Davao: Life is Here

Indeed, it’s a weekend to remember. Last Saturday, I spent a wonderful time with my fellow Davao bloggers and photographers for the special event “Davao Life is Here: The Davao Bloggers Tour.” Different participants gathered for one day to explore the beauty of the city. All of us cancelled our plans for the weekend to enjoy the tour organized by Davao Bloggers in cooperation with City Tourism Office. There were four groups, composed of twelve to fourteen members, assigned to visit twenty-eight tourist spots in Davao city. I was part of the Uptown Adventurers.
For our first stop, we headed to Jack’s Ridge where we felt the morning glory. The place was so quiet and relaxing! It wasn’t my first time to visit the place because my friends and I usually go there for our dinner dates and night swimming sessions. But I never had a chance to go to Jack’s Ridge during the first hours of the day. I didn’t know that it is more beautiful in the morning than at night. My team mates and I stayed at Karlo’s Gourmet and Coffee for some coffee treats.

These are the establishments operating inside Jack’s Ridge:

Location: Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao city

The second stop was Gap Farming Resort. As far as I can remember, the last time I went to the place was seven years ago when I was still on my high school. One of the chosen places for our then educational field trip was Gap Farm. Can you imagine my amazement when I saw the major improvements made on this tourist spot? Everything looks brand new! However, there are some parts of Gap farm that needs renovation and I’m looking forward for the management to work on it soon for the improvement of Davao city tourism.
Location: Green Valley, Diversion Road, Davao City
Contact Numbers: (082) 244-0156 / 221-2653 / 224-2671
D’ Leonor Inland Resort was our final stop. What I love about the place is that it is arranged like Singapore’s Sentosa Island. There are many exciting activities that families and friends will surely enjoy at D’ Leonor. With the shuttle available, we were able to tour around the big inland resort without experiencing delays or hassles. One of the best things Uptown Adventurers did was the ATV ride. We had so much fun as we hit the race track with our mini-ATV. Aside from it, we also tried the cable car ride and hanging bridge walk. Since I was wearing a dress, I wasn’t able to enjoy the adventure of zip line unlike my teammates. We only intended to stay for two hours at the place but we ended up staying there for more than five hours! A day or two is never enough to tour around the beautiful D’ Leonor Inland Resort.

Facilities and Amenities:

Location: Communal, Purok 5, Davao City

After having a blast last weekend, I can say that “Davao: Life is Here.” Davao doesn’t only have amazing tourist destinations and spots that every person will surely fall in love with. It is also composed of naturally happy people who are always ready to share the blessings of the city.
