Lucky Days for the Close Friends

There are certain times in our lives when things don’t happen the way we want them to be. It is depressing when we keep our hopes high only to find out in the end that our expectations are not met. Sometimes, wishes just don’t come true. But despite all of these, we must never forget to hold on and to continue believing that some day, everything will be fine. One morning, we would wake up and find ourselves completely happy with how things have turned out. We just need to wait for that day.

As my favorite line from The Secret says, “Thank God that there’s a time delay, that all your thought don’t come true instantly. We’d be in trouble if they did. The element of time delay serves you, it allows you to reassess, to think about what you want and to make a new choice.”

*Not the actual camera* Just the
key holder I bought for the cam’s bag.

Truly, good things come to those who wait. My good friend and I have proven this again as we received unexpected gifts from our parents. Just when we least expected, all we’ve wished for came true. Yesterday, I received a brand new entry-level DSLR camera from my mom and dad. And today, part of his funds were released by his parents which allowed him to purchase a new car.

Since my dad works overseas, I have to be in constant communication with him so that we would remain close to each other despite the distance. The other night, I talked to him about the current happenings in my life. When we were about to end the conversation, I joked about the camera I have been asking from him since last month. It was unexpected when he said that I can already buy it anytime I want. Well, thanks to my mom who made some efforts in convincing papa to grant my request. So, yesterday, we headed to iClick and bought my Nikon camera.

Being the only son, he gets everything he wants from his parents. But when he started to take advantage of his being an unico hijo, his mom decided to take hold of his finances and all other important things in his life. His car was taken away from him and he was restricted to access his bank accounts. Because of this, he was forced to live a frugal life. The best thing about my boyfriend is he never complained about what his mom did because he completely understands the situation. So, he worked hard to gain his parents’ trust and to show them that he has changed for the better. Luckily, after months of waiting, his wish came true.

These are just some of the things that we are truly grateful of. We wished and waited. We’re glad that we did because we are now perfectly happy with how things in our lives have changed. March 5 and 6 – dates we would never forget!

P.S. I broke his Oakley shades this afternoon because of my clumsiness. He said it’s okay but I really feel guilty about it. Since it came as a gift from his tita who resides in Dubai, I know the pair of sunglasses has a sentimental value. Though I already bought a new one as an apology gift, I still think it’s not enough. There is something that I need to do. Can you suggest one?

I'm a big reader of the secret, and I believe in it too. As an apology gift, perhaps make him a really nice romantic dinner and take him to a movie/sports game that he likes? Or even help him decorate his new car?

That line is perfect.. and you two sound like a perfect couple! Di ba kayo nag-aaway? hehehe.. joke. A little spat can sometimes be healthy.. 🙂

Minsan, when we get everything we want, we tend to think that we can have everything we want. It may sound cruel sa mga sobrang spoiled, but what his parents did somewhat control his finances, it's for his own good.

A romantic dinner sounds nice! 🙂

If you can cook, you can treat him to a home-cooked dinner date. I'm sure he would appreciate the effort you put into it. Lalo na if you cook his favorite dishes.
