A New Beginning

This may sound cliché but yes, it’s not the end. It’s time for a brand new chapter in my life. To be honest, nothing has really changed. I’m still that old little school girl who always want to learn new things. Well, not inside the classroom. My five years in college has finally come into an end. All the sleepless nights, never-ending reports, jaw-breaking exams, special role playing activities, demanding school requirements are now gone.

My college years were perfectly crazy, both in good and bad ways. As we all know, the senior year in high school is the most appropriate time to think and plan of the course to take and university to enroll. In my case, my HS fourth year was all about having fun with my friends and exploring the world. Yes, there were no plans made. Thanks to my parents who told me to study in the University of the Philippines in Mindanao (UP Min). Since it was embarrassing to confess that I haven’t made any plan, I decided to took up BS Biology without even thinking if it was something I wanted. Because of being a hard headed girl, I ended up shifting course and leaving UP for Ateneo de Davao University.

Even before the first semester ended, I have already made up my mind in transferring to a new school especially when I found out that my parents won’t allow me to go for UPLB or UPD. My first years in AdDU were great. For the four consecutive semesters, I was a Dean’s Lister. However, things began spinning around when I reach my third year in college. My priorities suddenly changed. Instead of spending the nights at the dormitory, I chose to party with my friends. Instead of doing the school reports one week before the due date, I began procrastinating. Instead of reading notes during the weekends, I opted to go to the beach or enjoy out of town trips. Despite all my party goer state, I still managed to attend all my classes and do good in my course. But, it was never the same again. My grades started to go down (with no failing marks). Even if everything went from good to completely crazy, I still did what I needed to do. Determination and perseverance made me succeed.

Nothing feels great than bringing ultimate happiness to my mom and dad. I just want them to be happy, all the time. They deserve my diploma more than I do ♥
