No Other Woman

I finally had the chance to see the movie “No Other Woman” with my boy friend and close friend. It felt great having watched the film with the two persons close to me. Most of the time, only Babe and I go to the movies. But this day, it was different. We invited my close friend to come along since she wanted to see the film and she can’t be with her man for they just recently broke up. Good thing she doesn’t have a thing for couples after having a broken heart. Because the film was really great, we went out of the cinema smiling. We had so much fun and we really enjoyed the film. 

I must say that this is the movie of the year. I think an hour and 45 minutes is not enough to really tell the story of the characters. Truly, Star Cinema and Viva Films prepared for this movie. The actors and actresses portrayed their roles very well. The cinematography was perfect. And most importantly, the story is relatable. The script was also written very well! I suggest everyone should watch this film for some of us will be able to relate to the different characters and we’ll also learn many lessons about love and life.

Ram (the husband)

“Nakikita mo pa ba ang Sharmaine na pinakasalan mo o nagsisisi ka dahil nag-patali ka na agad?”
“Nagpapakababa ako. Hindi ko ‘to dapat ginagawa pero ginagawa ko para sa’yo dahil mahal kita.”
“Ram, bakit? Anong kulang? May kulang na si niluto ko? Pangit ba ako? Hindi ko alam eh. Mababaliw na ako sa kaiisip. Bakit? Paano mo ‘to nagawa? Ang sakit, Ram. Ang sakit. Maghiwalay na tayo.”

Sharmaine’s Mom “Kung ahas siya, mas ahas ako. You both listen to me, lalo ka na Sharmaine. Oras na may magtangkang umagaw, give that bitch a good fight.”
“Ganyan talaga kapag galing sa malaking dikya, nagmamarka.”
“Anak, kapag ang lalaki, maya’t-maya’y nagpapalit ng babae, okay lang yun. At least sa’yo inuuwi.”
“Sabi nga ni Grechen sa Magkaribal, ‘You want war? I’ll give you war.’ Ako na bahala sa red stilettos mo.”

Ram’s Friend “You should both know when to stop.”
“Iba na ang mga asawa ngayon… Kung kailangan nilang patayin ang kabit ng asawa nila, papatayin nila.”

Sharmaine’s Friend “‘Wag kang mag-iiskandalo dito ha, baka ma-fashion police tayo.”
“Takot ka lang na kerida ang piliin.”

Kara’s Father “Sa sobrang galit mo sa ama mo, naging katulad ka na niya. A little unsolicited advice Mr. Escaler, if you stop hating your father, maybe you’d be a good man.”

Conversations
Ram: “Kara, I’m married.”
Kara: “Just my luck.”
Ram: “I’m sorry.”
Kara: “Well, no consequences. No pressure then. I’m not gonna be your mistress, Ram. A woman only becomes a mistress when there’s emotional attachment. At wala ako nun.”

Ram’s friend: “Akala ko ba loyal ka?”
Ram: “I tried.”

Sharmaine: “Bakit kailangan ko ipaglaban kung alam kong akin?”
Sharmaine’s mom: Dahil ang mundo ay isang malaking Quiapo, maraming magnanakaw.”
…
Sharmaine: “Ano ba ang mahirap labanan? Ang putang mayaman o ang putang mahirap?”
Sharmaine’s mom: “Pare-parehong puta lang ang mga ‘yun. Yung mayaman, orginal ang Hermes. Ang mahirap, sa Green Hills binili.”

Sharmaine: “Gagong yun, nag-deny.”
Sharmaine’s friend: “Asa pa naman tayong aamin yun.”

Sharmaine: “The best things in life are free, like love. Ikaw naniwala ka ba sa love?”
Kara: “Love? I don’t know. Ikaw, do you really believe that love can last a life time?”
Sharmaine: “Oo naman, I believe in love. I believe in marriage.”

Kara: “You have a very nice home.”
Sharmaine: “Thank you. Ewan ko nga ba, kabago-bago inaanay na.”

Sharmaine: “Kara, do you cook?”
Kara: “No. I’ve tried but its not for me.”
Sharmaine: “You should cook more. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Pero sa ganda mong ‘yan, marami ka sigurong alam na short cuts.”

Sharmaine: “What more can I ask for?”
Kara: “Well any woman would be lucky to have Ram. So, lucky you.”
Sharmaine: “Mababaliw siguro ako kung malalaman kong may babe siya. Baka mapatay ko ang kabit. Silang dalawa, actually.”

Sharmaine: “Hindi ka talaga mangagaliwa kasi ang Ram na kilala ko hindi tutulad sa tatay ko or worst, your father.”
Ram: “Don’t you ever, ever compare me to my father.”

Kara: “Are you here to make a scene?”
Sharmaine: “Well, if you’re having an affair with my husband.”

Kara: “Well, if you’re expecting some cheap cat fight, it’s not happening.”
Sharmaine: “Alam mo, ang marriage, para yang village. Kailangan yang bantayan para hindi makapasok ang squatters.”

Kara: “I’m sorry for everything I did. Kasalanan ko talaga ang lahat. I was so stupid to think na mamahalin niya rin ako. Pero ganyan pala talaga kapag na-in love ka na. Mababaliw ka talaga. I knew all along na mali ang ginagawa ko but I just kept trying to convince myself na baka piliin  niya ako. But at the end of the day, ikaw pa rin ang mahal niya. Ikaw pa rin ang uuwian niya. Ikaw ang pipiliin niya. I’m not expecting you to forgive me but please, patawarin mo si Ram.”
Sharmaine: “That’s not for you to ask. Please umalis ka na.”
Ram: “I’m sorry.”

Kara: “Don’t be. Pareho naman tayong may kasalanan dito eh. I’m sorry.”
