One DDI: A Year After The Fresh Start

“I trusted the magic of new beginnings.”

In my life, I have been placed in several situations wherein I needed to make a choice. Oftentimes, it involves two things: Whether to start something new or to be stuck in my current state. Thinking about “new beginnings” is really exciting yet it is frightening at the same time. A big part of me wants to try something new. I crave for a fresh start. I love imagining about what would happen if I give in to the magic of new beginnings.
However, there is also that part of me that is afraid of making a wrong choice. What if I end up placing myself in a horrible situation? What if things get worse? What if I will regret the decision I made? These things are quite scary but I was able to ignore them all when I chose to be one with Davao Digital Influencers, Inc. (DDI).
Yes, it was a choice. It was a decision. Nobody compelled me to be one of the incorporators of DDI. There were no hesitations. And guess what? It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

And so the adventure begins.

“You cannot change the people around you, but you can change the people that you choose to be around.” This new beginning enabled me to surround myself with people who share the same views and beliefs as mine. I started to meet fellow influencers whose online presence was for a greater purpose — to make a difference. We may be different in so many things but we are one in working hand in hand to create a positive impact in the community through the use of our social media.
Here is my beloved Davao Digital Influencers, Inc. in a year:
On the 13th of September 2016, one month from the time the group was created,
Davao Digital Influencers became the only SEC-registered blogging community in Davao.
One of our first events – Kadayawan 2016 Twitter Party.
Grand launch of DDI and the 1st ever Acquaintance Party
of the organization at Marco Polo Hotel.
This is what we do.
Plaque of Recognition from the City Government of Davao
as appreciation for the efforts of DDI during the Kadayawan 2016.
DDI became the official social media partner of ETC’s Paintensity 2016.
Instead of having a grand and extravagant Christmas party, DDI
has chosen to extend the sharing of giving to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
Distribution was made in different places in the city.
Davao Digital Influencers, Inc. also became the official
media part of Miss Philippines 2017.
An appreciation from National Association of Independent Travel Agencies-Phils.
for the unwavering support of the organization in promoting Davao and the Philippines
as a major tourist destination.
The first ever workshop organized by Davao Digital Infuencers, Inc.
Second workshop organized and headed by the group.
DDI goes to Mati City for another workshop!
Another certificate of appreciation for the unwavering support of the organization
in promoting Davao city and its tourism industry.
Kids from Balay Pasilungan during the charity event organized by
McDo Philippines with Davao Digital Influencers, Inc.
In partnership with Air Asia Philippines, some DDI bloggers participated in its
official launch for their new flights from Davao. I was able to fly to Clark.
What a wonderful feeling to be part of this group.

My heart belongs to Davao Digital Influencers, Inc..

Being part of Davao Digital Influencers, Inc. means a lot to me. Together with my friends from #TeamAwesome, we came up with an idea to create an organization not only limited to bloggers but also to other online influencers. Back then, we simply wanted to gather people who share the same values and goals that we have. We were not expecting that the group would grow bigger. Up to this very moment, I still couldn’t believe that in a span of one year, DDI has increased its membership and has created a big impact in the community.
You know what they say about “when things are meant to be together, everything becomes easy.” This is what I feel about DDI. We didn’t try too hard. We just kept on doing things to achieve our mission in creating a group of responsible influencers. A lot of people saw what we did and supported us for it. Their trust and confidence with the organization has inspired us to do better each day.
Before ending this post, I would like to stress once again that I AM A PROUD MEMBER OF DAVAO DIGITAL INFLUENCERS, INC. It feels really good to be part of this organization. We engage. We influence. We make a difference.
