Project 365: Slicing Out a Moment and Freezing It Through Photographs

I can’t believe how fast time flies! We’ve already spent six happy, gloomy, exciting, blessed and *insert any feeling* months of the year 2014. That means that we only have less than 180 days left before we welcome another year, perhaps a new chapter, in our lives…
On the 31st of December 2013, I shared about my bucketlist for 2014 among which were “3. Complete the photo-a-day project for the whole year” and “4. Create a new blog.” So I’m publishing this new entry on my site to proudly announce that I have already created a new blog entitled “Life and Love in 365” for my photo-a-day project. It’s a Tumblr blog where all my daily snapshots are uploaded. As of now, I am already on my 186th photo. Ever since I started doing Project 365, I begin to notice all the things going on with my everyday life. The said project allowed me to take notice of the small details and little things that truly matter. Indeed, “Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”

Let me share to you my stories from January-June 2014 through these photos:

“I want pictures like these.
The kind that can capture a moment,
make it real, make it last.
I need pictures that do more than reflect.
I need pictures that are truth.”
― Lisa Magnum
As you can see from the collection of photos above, I feature different subjects everyday. Each photo has its own story and that is what makes me love Project 365 more. Looking at all the pictures I have taken for the first six months of 2014 makes me feel happier and more inspired to live life to the fullest. Whenever I take a photo of someone or something, I have that feeling of satisfaction in me knowing that I was able to slice out a particular moment and freeze it through a photograph. I will really do my best to complete my first-ever Photo-A-Day project and promise to do another one for 2015.
How about you? Do you have any stories to share about your Project 365 or Photo-A-Day experience?

“What i like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” ― Karl Lagerfeld

  1. I really like the idea of a different photo a day blog. It would be hard to think of a different subject everyday though.

  2. Nice! I like the idea of collecting one photo a day and make it into a calendar! Very cool!

Nice blog. But what I admire you the most ..is your desire to keep yourself busy doing productive projects. Keep it up Algene and hope to see you again, sa Davao naman. 🙂

Hi Algene! That was some amazing work! I love taking pictures too but half of the year has come and gone. I would probably start next year. I'll have to purchase a memory card with a larger storage space. Mine's currently 16 GB only. Thanks for the idea.

  8. This is nice!!! Id like to do this too. but I'm not as diligent as you are. hahaha. I mostly ended up having this moment by instagram..

I like the idea . Id ever na magkaroon ako ng cam. I'll make also a photo-a-day calendar just like yours.

I really admire you Algene for engaging into what you love doing, taking pictures and blogging about them, while I know how busy you are as a law student. You really know how to manage your time between work, study and pleasure. That's something I always find hard of doing. But if I were single, I would be like you. I will also challenge myself to go to places like joining this kind of project to enjoy more on blogging and meeting bloggers face to face. Enjoy as u always have! Keep being an inspiration.

A journal with a photo together is one way to convey readers on what you are going through, an evidence of shots of your activities both contributes together to form a great PHOTO JOURNAL.

I've always wanted to do this but I can only last until February. It's really nice how you did your photo a day challenge. I hope I can do this too next year.
