The Things Starbucks Will Give You This Summer Season
When we talk of “Summer”, some of the few things that come into our minds are beaches, road trips, adventures, travels and of course cold beverages. In this season, we all crave for something to cool us down. We want to indulge in drinks that will not only help us beat the heat but will also make us feel oh-so-good just like the new handcrafted beverage from Starbucks Philippines. Let me introduce you to the all new Pop’zel Coffee Frappuccino Blended Beverage.
Yep, that’s pretzel and popcorn you’re seeing right there. This summer, get ready for an unexpected throwback as Starbucks brings together two of our childhood favorites—popcorn and pretzels—in one delectable drink. You will certainly fall in love with this blended frappuccino drink with delicious popcorn and pretzel syrup. There’s more! It is topped with real caramel popcorn and salted pretzel over whipped cream.
In an event organized by Starbucks Philippines in Davao city, this famous coffee shop chain also announced the return of Roasted Marshmallow S’mores Frappuccino Blended Beverage which was a well-loved flavor from last year. Customers love this drink flavored with vanilla, layered with smooth marshmallow whipped cream together with indulgent chocolate sauce and graham crumble.
Note: The two featured beverages will be available for a limited time only starting April 18, 2017.
On the same event, Starbucks Philippines also introduced new food items that every customer will definitely enjoy:
- Caramel Almond Crunch Cake
- Camembert and Mascarpone Cheesecake
- Roast Beef Deli on Ciabatta Bread
- Banana Chocolate Danish
Among the featured food items, my most favorite is the Roast Beef Deli on Ciabatta Bread. It is a perfect combination of the ingredients I love: slow-roasted beef, sliced button mushrooms, sweet and tangy sliced pickles and horseradish spread — all layered on toasted rosemary ciabatta bread. This newest addition is going to be the right complement for my forever-favorite White Mocha Americano. For those who are always on the go, this is something you can grab for lunch.
For those who have a sweet tooth, then the mini cakes from Starbucks are must-try. The Caramel Almond Crunch Cake is composed of different layers of moist cake, light caramel mousse, almond crunc and buttery flaky crust. It is glazed with caramel fudge, drizzled with dark and white chocolate and sprinkled with almond on the sides. Another one is the Camembert and Mascapone Cheesecake (also available with Blueberry toppings for Metro Manila branches), which has a buttery crust. It can be paired with Cafe Americano, Brewed Coffee or Cafe Latte.
Also on the list is the Banana Chocolate Danish — buttery and flaky Danish filled with decadent chocolate and sliced banana topped with slivers of almond. This is the right item to order if you are looking for something light and sweet as you enjoy your coffee at Starbucks. For only Php 95, you can already get your chocolate-banana-almond fix.
Starbucks also introduced refreshing coffee perfect for the summer season.
- Kati Kati Blend – This coffee is bright and medium-bodied, striking a balance between the citrus and spice notes from Kenya and the floral aromas and crisp acidity from Ethiopia.
- Via Iced Coffee – Caramelly-smooth with hints of citrus, lightly sweetened with a touch of cane sugar for a well-balanced, refreshing finish.Starbucks VIA® Iced Coffee is made from 100% Arabica beans from Latin America. It is specifically formulated to dissolve in cold water in an instant.
- Reserve Nicaragua La Roca – This is an exceptional coffee that was sourced from a place known for specialty coffee with notes of orange hibiscus and red plum.
- Costa Rica West Valley Yellow Honey – A coffee processed using the yellow honey method that brings us a unique cup from West Valley Costa Rica that has flavors of honey and sugarcane.
The Media Summer Launching Event wouldn’t be complete without the introduction of new Starbucks cards!

Take a closer look and you’ll see the amazing canvass to express your style. My personal pick is the blue one. It reminds me of beach waves! This new card is available for an initial activation amount of Php 1,000.
