A Secret Affair Movie Review with Quotes
Betrayal, infidelity, unfaithfulness and third party relationships are too mainstream in the Philippine movies these days. When Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsey starred in the film “No Other Woman,” they have wow-ed everyone for their outstanding roles and performances. In their second film together, these two great actor and actress succeeded again in bringing another wonderful and heart-breaking movie.
A Secret Affair is a 2012 romance drama film starring Anne Curtis (Raffy – the girlfriend / fiancee), Derek Ramsey (Anton – the boyfriend / fiance) and Andi Eigenmann (Sam – the friend / the third party.)

The movie is all about a couple who are madly and deeply in love with each other. After two and a half months of dating together, Anton proposed to Raffy. During the preparations for their upcoming wedding, Raffy, the fiancee, was pressured with all the comments she has been hearing from everybody and all the happenings in her life. Her confusion and fears led her to leaving Anton and becoming a run-away bride. On the night before their wedding, she went to her fiance’s condominium unit, returned the engagement ring and left without giving explanations to Anton.
Raffy traveled abroad and there, she found herself. Meanwhile, Anton got his heart broken and Sam, Raffy’s sorrority sister, was ready to help him heal. She was there when he was hurting. Then, they became fucking buddies – casually hooking up. For Anton, Sam is just another woman. He still loves Raffy despite what the latter has done to her. So, as expected, when Raffy came back home and explained the reasons for her disappearance, she and Anton got back together. This broke Sam’s heart which motivated her to ruin the relationship of her love and her close friend.
The story revolves around a man who loves someone so much, a woman who has been betrayed by the love of her life and another woman who fell in love at the wrong time and at a wrong person. It is truly heart breaking to see each of them suffer the consequences of what they have done. A relationship was destroyed because of a selfish woman and a friendship was destroyed because of a man who has committed a mistake.
In this movie, you will learn the value of trust in a relationship. Betrayal is like a poison. Once the other party has committed it, it is impossible for the relationship to be at its best. Despite all the efforts and considerations made, there will still be more misunderstandings, doubts and problems. There are some who can survive the infidelity and unfaithfulness. They are the ones who are strong enough to ignore the pain and disregard the doubts in their minds and hearts. When trust is broken, the relationship will never be the same again. Well, the decision depends on how the lovers believe in their love for each other,
Verdict: This is a must-see movie. It has so many lessons to share to its viewers. The actors and actresses in this film did a good job in carrying out their roles in the big screen. Every scene is also heart-breaking especially when every side of the main characters is shown. Though the ending of the movie was not something I expected, I realized that it was the right end for A Secret Affair. There is more to the plot of this film. Rating: 4.5/5.0.
I would like to congratulate the whole cast of A Secret Affair for coming up with a wonderful love story that will surely touch the hearts of all its viewers. The movie is not only about men and women relationships. It also depicts the unconditional love that a mother can give to its daughters and the support that a lovely family can provide to its members.

Filipino movies have definitely come a long way from the love-team, dance number genre of yesteryears. Now, movies have more depth and character- not to mention, unforgettable lines!

I'm sure there are lots of lessons to be learned from these types of movies, its just that, for some personal reason I'm staying away from movies with themes of infidelity, fucking buddies and the likes. I actually have not seen No Other Woman even if it already aired on TV.
Will be looking forward to see this movie, though not much a fan of drama movies, I want to see how the movie ends.. lol..
it's a comedy
just like any other movie, ilusyon lang. walang mahirap or middle class na ipinakita. lahat mayaman — ang mga damit, bahay, lugar, kutis at mga mukha. walang trabaho ng totoong pagbabanat ng buto. mga trabahong pang tim yap ang ipinakita. hindi ko nga alam kung saang bansa itoh. wah
at ayaw ko sa character ni derick, masyadong madrama at iyakin, ayaw ng mga foreigners nyan. lalaking malibog sa babae na bading magdrama.

This is not another infidelity movie, Its more of a trust-betrayal story. This movie is good but it still wont get my two thumbs up rating. I just wish that Nuel Nuval reviewed the script and had place into consideration that he had filipino stars portraying the role of each character and he had filipino audience. I understand that the two leading women had to be stylish and roles exchanged in ENGLISH is more classy like saying "BITCH" over "PAKANTOT KA!", but this movie failed big time in having memorable lines that movie goers would right on their status on facebook, 90% of the movie lines were in english, making you ask is this a VIVA FILMS picture or UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. hmmmm… It also made me wonder what could have caused the blockbuster hit of this movie? It could be because Derek Ramsey played the role of an-almost-naked-all-the-time-leading-man. (*wink*)
and please CATE'S (Jackie lou Blanco) line "and by the way I faked every orgasm" MADE NO SENSE AT ALL!

sabi ko nung una, wala ng maiisip na magandang story ang mga writers for Filipino Movies…i am not really a fan though..andyan ung my neighbors wife, then no other woman, tapos the mistress & now this A secret affair…
i was really badtrip nung pumasok ako sa sinehan to watch this movie, wala ako magagawa kasi gusto ng partner ko…nung napanuod ko na siya sabi ko not bad…nagandahan nmn ako…may mga OA lines nga lng sa movie pero maganda..
i reccomend na panuorin eto nung may mga asawa na at in relationships…but i wont reccommend it as the best movie.:p

This movie is a mediocre… Nothing new and yong mga lines din parang regular english conversationl lang.. I am not surprise kung hindi box office hit ito. This is almost the same exact movie as their previous one iniba lang yong lines.Haaay..

I found Andi's acting annoying, and the facebook-twitter scenes were corny. Other than that, thumbs up for this movie!
