A Single Lady’s Prayer (Happiness and Love)

Lord, I thank you for everything that you have given me. Thank you for the gift of happiness and peace in my heart. It always amazes me how Your works do wonders. I once got my heart broken and never thought that I would be able to get out of it alive. I was torn into pieces but Your love helped me survive it all. You made me believe that everything was just passing and that things will get better someday. And yes, it eventually did.

Thank you for the gift of friends and loved ones who have been making my days brighter. Thank you for giving me these lovely people in my life who have never given up on me. I know that there are times when I’m not a great person to be with but they have stayed by my side no matter what. They are always there to back me up and to support me in whatever I do. For all these, I am truly grateful.

Lord, forgive me for the times when I failed to do the right things. Forgive me for the moments when I act selfish and prevent people from getting close to me. It’s just hard to start trusting someone after everything that I’ve been through. You were there when I felt like the whole world has turned its back on me. You knew how painful it was and I can’t help but to guard myself against love and affection. But I know, someday, I will be able to learn how to love again. 

When that day finally comes, I hope that I will be able to meet the right person – someone who will make me understand why people need to get their hearts broken, someone whom I can spend the rest of my days, and someone who can accept me for what I am and for who I am. Lord, I will patiently wait for that one special, beautiful day.

For now, I am content for all that I have. I’m perfectly happy that I am capable of getting up in the morning, doing the things I love and continuing the day with so much enthusiasm. Well, there might be days when I feel like I’m alone but again, I believe that it’s only temporary.  Someone out there is waiting for me too. Someone out there is also preparing to meet me at the right time and at the right place. 

It may take long but I don’t care. The best things in life are absolutely worth waiting for.

Lord, I love you and I offer everything to You. May you continue to bless me and the persons I love. May you grant the desires of my heart.
