First Exam in Law School

Let me share some of the wonderful photos taken after our first exam in law school. My classmates and I prepared for the Criminal Law I major exam by studying everyday and night. Last Saturday, we went to a local coffee shop for our last review before the test. Since some were not able to sleep the night before, I, Yna, Elica and Ron were the only ones up for the study session.

The Revised Penal Code of the Philippines and The Criminal Law Textbook of Reyes are our ultimate best friends! We have to read these books all the time.

While studying in coffee shops, my friends and I always stay in separate tables. We always do this so we can avoid the temptation of talking about stuff not related to our subjects and laughing over matters that do not concern our studies of the law. This is how my study table looks like…

The wallpaper on my iPad says: “Keep Calm and Be a Lawyer.” It reminds me every single day of my ultimate dream. My life in law school is not easy but I am willing to take all the hardships and difficulties because I believe than in time, all of those will be worth it in the end.

Of course, right after our exam, my study buddies and I headed to Hollywood Burgers in The Peak for our ultimate post-exam gathering. Instead of having books and photocopied materials on our table, we had giants burgers and fries!

Addendum as of April 25, 2016: Wow. I’ve been in law school for four years already. The struggle is real. I have no idea when I’ll be graduating and everything seems so difficult at the moment. However, a big part of me really wants to stay in law school. Studying law did not only give me an opportunity to learn more about legal stuff but most importantly, it taught me how to stay hard and tough in spite of all the trials and difficulties. While reading this post, I couldn’t help but smile and be ashamed of my 1st-year-law-student self. It seemed like I was too shallow back then. Now, I believed that I have changed (hopefully for the better, hehe). Right now, if you check my online accounts, you wouldn’t see photos or posts of me while studying. As much as possible, I want to keep all these things to myself. It’s quite “nakakahiya” to keep posting about “me studying” when I’ve been struggling to stay in law school. Hahaha Anyway, I’ll keep this blog entry to remind myself that at some point, I was an annoying law student. 😉 You might want to check some of my latest posts about law school by clicking the category LAW SCHOOL below.

so inspiring, i've been reading your blog about your law school experience (for almost the entire night, while on work.) The thought of being a law student and becoming one brings out all enthusiasm within the fibers of my body(OA). Anyway, you have somehow ignited my desire to become one. Keep it Up 🙂
