The past few months have been challenging for several people. It is surprising to discover that the year is about to end. I can still vividly remember how the news about COVID-19 broke out on Twitter and in local news channels. Instead of talking about politics or entertainment, the breaking news suddenly became all about the threats of the Coronavirus pandemic. Fast forward to today, the virus is still here and a vaccine has not yet been discovered. All these things made a lot of us feel stuck and anxious.
Because of this, it is important to do things that make us happy. However, we must not forget to still comply to stay safe, not only for ourselves but for everyone surrounding us. One of the things that bring joy to my life is going on a road trip adventure with the people who matter to me.
It was such a relief to escape from the busy city even for just a few hours. We went to a friend’s inland resort at Datu Salumay, which is a two-hour drive away from Davao city. It’s been a long time since I visited this place because I’ve been so busy with work during the first quarter of 2020. After that, travel restrictions were implemented as part of the measures to fight against COVID-19. Imagine my happiness when my friend, who owns the property, told me that the place is available for private gatherings. Of course, I grab that chance to break my usual home-office-coffee shop cycle.
Traveling all the way to Datu Salumay was completely fun and exciting with the Ford EcoSport. Even though it was raining, everything was great! I did not encounter any issue in driving the vehicle.
