Sending My Love and Prayers to the Angels

There are only nine days to go before Christmas. Last night, I was feeling giddy and excited for the upcoming holidays. I was thinking of the break from school and time to be spent with the persons I love. Christmas is truly something wonderful to celebrate with families and friends. However, when I heard of the news this morning, my heart was broken into pieces. There were sad tweets filling my Twitter dashboard with hash tags #CTShooting and #PrayforNewtown. Then, I learned of the tragic Connecticut Massacre where twenty beautiful angels and six adults were killed. Suddenly, I found myself crying upon reading the different news articles on the web.
Christmas is fast-approaching and I can’t believe that the victims of the shooting will not be able to experience the merry season. The little angels who passed away will no longer feel the excitement of placing socks outside their doors while waiting for Santa to grant their wishes. They will no longer have the chance to receive lovely gifts from their parents nor share sweet dinner with their families. I am saddened by the thoughts that those parents who lost their sons and daughters will not have a merry Christmas this year. They will be in pain for losing their beautiful little angels.
I wonder what got into the mind of the shooter. Majority of the 26 individuals killed were children. How could he murder these innocent kids and kill their dreams? The 20 angels are now in heaven. All their dreams are gone. Those who dreamed of becoming a teacher, an engineer, a lawyer or a doctor will never achieve it. The parents who spend sleepless nights to take good care of their children will now feel emptiness. These sad things are happening because of one heartless individual who took away the lives of his victims.
I am extending my prayers and love to all those who passed away. May you rest in peace. For the parents and families of the victims, may you have the courage to face these tragic moments in your lives. To be honest, I can’t find the right words to say to you because I know nothing can ever ease the pain. Please have faith and believe that things will get better someday.

  4. when I first saw this, I was like: seriously..?? just because the world will end according to Mayans, means that you would have to shoot and kill innocent people.. so sad.. just reminds us how ruthless the world is.. 🙁

This is really a tragic event and it's unfortunate that things like this really happens. I hope that a similar situation of unprovoked shooting does not happen again.

  6. Like these parents (both of the victims and survivors) my heart is broken. For horrible things like this to happen to innocent angels is just unthinkable. It is every parent's worst nightmare. In the Special Education Philippines website, I painstakingly listened to US President Obama's message to address the Sandy Hook School Shooting. Just like what the president said, I look forward to America's rise to be its best to honor the fallen.

I was totally shocked and devastated when I heard about this news. Gruesome is the word to sum up this tragedy. And I asked God, Why did you let it happened at this time when the whole world is preparing for a fun holiday.

This tragic event brings once more to the front the ever perpetual debate of gun control in American society. How many more events like this will the American people tolerate before they start thinking about doing gun control reforms.

  9. Very tragic incident. I wonder why this kind of incident always happened in the US. remember the batman premiere and the last year's shooting incident?

They really picked a bad time to do something like this. Giving my regards through a prayer. 🙁

  11. It really is sad that they didn't have the chance to grow. I extend my earnest prayers for those who have unknowingly died because of a man.

  15. America the land of promise and gruesome crimes. The gun ban should be implemented and religion should be strongly practiced. These two factors prevent people for acquiring a deranged mind

I woke up with this news on my social updates feed. It was heart-breaking and at the same time completely terrifying. The fact that a man with no documented history of violence suddenly turned into a ruthless killing machine was a freak act in itself. Of all the targets he picked, why an elementary school? I have no answers to the why, and in the end, I don't think it's important. What's more scary in my opinion is that the US may not change their gun laws any time soon – thus making incidents like this possible all over again. Thoughts and prayers definitely for the Newtown families affected.

As a parent, this news made me fall into tears. Any parent would never want this to happen to their children.

  18. Grabe naman ito parang yung barilan nung sa The Dark Knight Rises. Ano na bang nasa isip ng mga amerikano. Kakalaro siguro nila ng GTA IV, Saint Row The Third at iba ibang mga violent games.

  19. Deann says:

Yes, it was really bothering. 🙁
I'm a parent also and I don't know what I feel if my child was involve on that shooting.
^ Agree with Ralph, napaka-psycho naman masiyado. Kaloka. Kung buhay pa yang killer na yan, pahihirapan ko muna siya bago siya mamatay!

they must seriously look at what the kids are playing and watching now. too much violence is not really good, they get wrong ideas. our condolences to the families. Yahweh bless.
