The Sweetest Love

For the past twenty years of my life, I have been loved and taken cared of a special woman. According to her, I am an angel sent from above. What she didn’t know was that she is the one sent from heavens above to me. No one has ever loved me more than she does. I must say, I owe my life to her. I thank her for every second of my existence in this world. I would like to devote this post to the one woman who has always made me feel like I’m the prettiest princess and the sweetest daughter. To my mama, this is for you.

Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly. Our relationship is not perfect but it’s the best. We may not have the same opinions and views about certain things but we do have more things where we completely agree. There are times when you dislike my attitude and teach me lessons in ways that I don’t like. Yet, we always understand each other at the end of the day. Mama, I love you very much. I want you to know that I feel so lucky for having you in my life. I thank you for everything that you have done for me, my little brother and Papa. Without your light in our home, our family wouldn’t be this happy.

School and other stuff have been making me busy these past few months but despite my busy schedule, I still get to share breakfast with my mom. Because I go home late on the weekdays, I can’t share dinner with her already. We have less time to spend together at home that is why we find ways to bond during the weekends. Last Saturday, I went out to the movies with her where we watched “Way Back Home.” Today, I went to the mall with her where she got me a new business attire and a pair of shoes. We also have our dinner date (only the two of us). The times I share with my mom is something I value. I want to make her feel everyday that I am still the little girl she has nurtured with so much love since the day I was born. I want to let her know that her love has taught me to be independent but does not take me away from her.
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving
