6th Back to School Gift Giving Project

An advocacy project helping school children who do not have necessary materials to foster their basic education.

The 6th installation of Back to School Gift Giving Project is now open for volunteers and donors who want to share something for this year’s beneficiaries. The man behind the project is Naprey Almario (Behind the Rolling Chair), one of the advocacy bloggers close to my heart. With the goals of promoting champion education and fighting rural illiteracy, Naprey (in 2011) started accepting pledges from friends who are willing to provide school materials to less fortunate children. Davao Bloggers Society is one of the partners for this advocacy project. Distribution of the school supplies will start on May 2016.
As of April 26, these are the confirmed beneficiaries:
1) Balay Pasilungan
2) Padre Pios Home for Children
3) Providence Home of St. Joseph
4) SPED Buhangin (PWD students)
We are still accepting donations for the project. You can donate in cash or in kind (school bags, notebooks, elementary papers, coupon bond, colored paper, crayons and colored pencils, erasers and sharpeners, pencil cases, rules, glue or paste). For inquiries, you may contact 0947-893-1988 (Naprey). We can pick up donations or do meet ups in the downtown area.
“At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by ‘I was hungry and you gave me to eat, I was naked and you clothed me, I was homeless and you took me in.’ Hungry not only for bread — but hungry for love. Naked not only for clothing — but naked for human dignity and respect. Homeless not only for want of a room of bricks — but homeless because of rejection.” ~ Mother Teresa
