Valentine Gifts That Are Much Better Than Flowers and Chocolate

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it is time to get a little more creative. A box of chocolates and a bunch of red roses are just so overdone. Won’t your other half prefer something a little more creative? Many people think that it is the thought that counts when it comes to buying a gift. It shows you have taken lots of time to think of your love and what they might like. It shows you have thought outside the box and chosen something a little more specific to them. Plus, flowers die, and chocolates get eaten. Why not give a gift that has a bit more longevity? Here are a few different ideas for you, if you’re planning something fun for your Valentine.
Art
If your Valentine is a little more creative than cheesy, then some original fine art paintings would be such a hit. It is something that they can display in their home, and it will remind them of you. It will last for a while, so it is a good sign of longevity in a relationship too. It could even be something that you have created if you yourself are the artistic one. Knowing that you’ve taken time out to put something together for them would mean the world. This is definitely a thought that counts gift. Perfect to woo your valentine.

An Experience
Though an experience is just a one-time thing, the memories that it will make will last for a lifetime. It could be something that they have always wanted to do that you could help them cross off their bucket list. It could be visiting a certain place or country, or doing something wild like bungee jumping. Knowing you have taken the time to plan out something for them will mean a whole lot more than flowers or chocolate. Time is really showing that you love someone, rather than just getting them something generic.

Notebook
This might sound quite dull but hear me out. You could get them a cute notebook, or a specific notebook made to write out things that you like about them. Then they can read one each day for a year, for example. It could also be a collection of love letters that you could put together or even something like a scrapbook of the things you have done together or photographs of the two of you. This will take a little preparation and time, but it will make a massive impact on the recipient.
Jewelry
If you want to impress this Valentine’s Day, then a piece of jewelry will be sure to please. You can’t go too far wrong with something that sparkles, right? So maybe a necklace, earrings, or a ring (though the latter does come with a certain expectation, doesn’t it)? It would be even better if it were teamed with the offer of going on a date to get dressed up and fancy and to wear the new earrings or bracelet, wouldn’t it? Have a happy Valentines!
