Memorable Chinese New Year 2014
I’m not a Chinese but I must say, celebrating Chinese New Year has always been something I look forward to every year. Since it’s not a traditional holiday for me, my celebration is quite modest. There are no fireworks, no lanterns and feasts. What I usually do is see my friends and spend the wonderful day with them. One of my beliefs is that doing such will help me attract better things in my new year. So, my January 30, 2014 was of no difference. Allow me to share how I celebrated CNY this year by sharing to you the story below.
In just one day, I was able to attend three special events with the people who matter in my life. These are the persons who made my previous years unforgettable. For 2014, I look forward to making more great memories with them.
The first thing I did yesterday was to drive all the way to Abreeza Mall for my lunch date with Team Positive (#positivepeeps) at YakiMix. It was the first major get-together we had for the year because December 2013 and January 2014 made us very busy with our personal lives and career-related tasks. After spending a lovely time with my positive blogger friends, I went to Shakey’s Pizza at Duterte Street to celebrate a law school friend’s late birthday celebration. It was nice bonding with my friends from AdDU College of Law without talking about provisions and cases about our subjects. There are two words that can describe the time I spend with them – Pure Bliss. The last event was visiting Mommy Floraine of My Happy Beginnings. Together with some of my friends from Positive Peeps, we went to Pampanga Executive Homes for a surprise baby shower!
Of course, the most special part of all was having a sweet dinner with my family. My mom prepared my all-time favorite salad while my brother cooked his specialty. My brother’s girlfriend also joined us for the sumptuous dinner. Oh how I wish my dad was there for the simple CNY dinner we had. Well, at least, only two more months to go and I’ll see him again.

Well, my CNY was ordinary. Tuloy pa rin sa pag cocontrol ng air traffic. LOL actually gisapot ko kay holiday sa Friday, walay mag process sa among sweldo. Samok. HAHAHA! Huy ba, I *might* go home this last week of February (planning to go home by 28, then balik March 5). Laag (and lafang lol it rhymes) napud with Positive Peeps ha! Mingaw na ko sa inyo as much as I miss Davao and my family! 😀
It's nice to celebrate the Chinese New Year with the special people you have in your life. I'm envious. I did nothing during the Chinese New Year.
Being with friends is a nice way to celebrate Chinese New Year specially with the extra holiday that came with it.
Looks like a really fun new year celebration! Chinese new year is not traditionally celebrated in my family, but since it was a holiday, we went to the mall and had our fill of good Chinese food. Good enough for me.

What a cool way of celebrating CNY!!! We don't really celebrate it but this year, my mother's sister decided to throw a house blessing for their new home and it was in time for the CNY because they think that it's a good luck! 🙂
We had work. 🙁 Boo haha anyway, we got to celebrate afterwards. Many of my Filipino colleagues also learned to celebrate CNY and they even gave away tikoy in the office.

Our Chinese New Year was rather ordinary but our dinner was misua with meatballs and boiled eggs. And don't forget the tikoy too! Yumyum! 😀
