Mr. & Mrs. B Restaurant Opens In Davao City

Great food, beautiful interior, amazing service — these are the first three things that come to mind whenever I think about Mr. & Mrs. B. It is a new homegrown restaurant that has recently opened its doors to Davaoeños last week. This place is owned and managed by the same family that brought Rekado and Patok sa Manok in Davao city. As such, you can expect this restaurant to bring nothing but the best to its diners or guests.

Chef Pauline Benedicto-Malilin honors her parents, Mr. Rommel & Mrs. Lena Benedicto, by bringing another set of best-tasting dishes to a new Davao restaurant that foodies will surely love.

I attended the preview event of Mr. & Mrs. B. I have to say that it was such a wonderful experience to have a taste of what this new restaurant will offer to Davao foodies. All the dishes served by Chef Pauline Benedicto-Malilin and her team were amazing. The best part of all is that these dishes come in big portions and at a fair price. For sure, people will love this place not only because of the food but also its tropical-themed interiors. At the same time, the staff of this new restaurant are also friendly and accommodating. They certainly know how to attend to the needs of every diner.

Let me give you a quick tour…

As you can see, the setup of the place is really beautiful. It has a cozy ambiance and offers a comfortable vibe. The tables and chairs come in different sizes and designs. There are tables available for big and small groups. The place is also filled with amazing artwork pieces, that can definitely provide comfort and happiness to every diner.

What To Order at Mr. & Mrs. B

As already mentioned above, there are many great dishes available at this homegrown restaurant. Because of this, I highly recommend that you dine with your loved ones at Mr. & Mrs. B. This place will never disappoint you with their latest offerings.

If you are going to ask me what dish to order for your visit to Mr. & Mrs. B, the first thing I would recommend is the Roasted Half Herb-Chicken. I think what makes it stand out from the other main courses is its garlic-wine sauce that complements perfectly with the well-seasoned chicken meat. For a more satisfying experience, be sure to order this dish with a cup of turmeric rice on the side.

Another must-try from the menu is the Grilled Tuna Belly. It is served with Mr. & Mrs. B’s special eggplant-parmesan puree. This is the ideal dish for someone who enjoys munching on seafood dishes. The restaurant only uses fresh tuna belly and the fish is grilled to perfection.

The MMB Grilled Salad was also surprisingly good. Take it from someone who does not like to eat greens. I was not expecting it to be great as I always presume that salads taste weird. Imagine my surprise when I had a bite of Mr. & Mrs. B’s version — it was such a relief to know that there is a restaurant in the city that can provide me with a best-tasting salad dish. Who would have thought that I’d find one?

My favorite between the two is the Cream of Mushroom soup. It has the right consistency for a soup dish, making it the perfect food item to order to kickstart your meal at Mr. & Mrs. B.

The Bone Marrow Butter is another must-order appetizer from Mr. & Mrs. B. Take your time in enjoying this delectable dish. Give in to your food cravings and grab a slice of little toasts (ciabatta crostini) and pair it with the oh-so-good bone marrow butter!
