Davao Food Crawl Goes To Kitsune Japanese Casual Dining

I have always been interested in checking the actual location of Kitsune ever since I ordered their famous Maki Box online. My first encounter with this restaurant was during the holiday rush of last year. I wanted to have something new on our table for the New Year celebration and luckily, I stumbled upon the Facebook page of Kitsune Japanese Casual Dining. In one of the posts on the said page, they advertised that their Maki Box is still available for delivery on January 31. Without hesitation, I ordered one mainly because the product photo that was posted on their page looked really good.

To be honest, I was not expecting for any of the California Maki, Spicy Tuna Maki, Ebi Tempura Maki, Kani Maki or Volcano Maki to be extra special since I only paid PHP 500 for forty pieces. Well, I thought wrong because everything was absolutely delicious. Since then, I started checking out their page every now and then to watch out for new offers. I wanted to visit their restaurant but never had a chance to do it because of my busy schedule. This was the case until Davao Food Crawl goes to Kitsune Japanese Casual last weekend.

During the event, we had a chance to try these absolutely affordable yet satisfying Japanese food items:

Korean Maguro Maki

This is the kind of maki that you need to order if you are craving for something fresh and flavorful. It is topped with marinated tuna in soy sauce coupled with Gochugang Sauce. You can order eight pieces for only PHP 170.

Salmon Tartare Maki

Salmon Tartare Maki

If you are a big fan of salmon, then be sure to include this in your list of orders in Kitsune. The combination of fresh raw salmon (with special seasonings) together with mango, tempura crumbs, crabstick and Gochugang sauce makes this maki irresistible. You can never say no to this goodness. Order eight pieces for only PHP 160.

Tonkotso Tantanmien Ramen

Yes, I’m saving the best for last. This is the perfect dish to order if you are looking for a bowl of delectable ramen without hurting your pocket. The level of spiciness is its best feature as well as the noodles used, which are specially hand-made by the people behind Kitsune Japanese Casual Dining. Order one serving for only PHP 250.

All About The Restaurant

Kitsune is a product of love and passion for the Japanese culture. The people who manage it are family members who share the same interest for Japanese cuisine. They wanted to let Dabawenyos experience what it feels to enjoy authentic Japanese dishes without the need to spend much. I have to say that they have been successfully in making it happen. I guess, it’s best if you see it for yourself.
